HOW TO PREP YOUR SKIN BEFORE MAKEUP

How To Care Our Skin Before Makeup

We are 100% sure that you must be drooling over the skin. Who wouldn’t want a perfect skin like this?

You flawlessly blend your foundation, apply rosy pink blush-on, and a subtle nude lipstick with a highlighter on top but just a little glance on the mirror gave you a flash of creased, smudged and dry patched skin. Was that what you wanted to achieve so far?

All you missed was a SKIN PREP!!

let’s introduce you to a CTM routine:

A good skincare routine is easy, quick, and effective if you get yourself a good cleanser, toner and moisturizer. All you have to do is follow the steps carefully. We will help you create a perfect skincare routine for naturally healthy and glowing skin.

Cleansing:

Cleansing is the first step in any skincare routine It cleanses away the dirt, impurities & excess oil from your skin. Using circular motions, gently rub your favorite cleanser into your skin. Don’t forget to select the cleanser according to your skin type and for that SL Basics by Dr. Shaista Lodhi has got you covered with their range of facewashes available for all skin types.

Knowing Your Skin Type:

Oily Skin: Too many pores with excess oil secretion and a greasy appearance.

Dry Skin: Rough, tight, doesn’t have enough moisture and sometimes itchy as well.

Normal Skin: Clear and balanced.

Combination Skin:  Dry on cheeks and oily on forehead, nose and chin area.

Sensitive Skin: Easily irritated and reactive to certain products.

TONING:

After cleansing, toner is the first thing you should put on your skin before exposing it to any other product. The best way to use a toner is to pour some on a soft cotton pad and mildly dab it into your skin or you can directly spray it on your face to recoup the natural pH level of the skin.

Next up on your pre-makeup to-do list is moisturizing. Consider moisturizer as your daily dose of hydration. It’s role on your skincare regimen is to nourish and soften your skin while keeping it hydrated throughout the day.

MOISTURIZING:

For oily & Combination skin apply a generous amount of hydrating serum to your entire face while your skin is still a little damp from the toner and you’re done with your CTM routine but if you have dry skin then, follow up with your favorite SL Basics moisturizer.

After a good CTM Routine, Don’t forget the most important part of your day skincare

Sunscreen:

The morning routine is all about protection from the sun & pollution. Sunscreen should be your utmost priority in daily skincare routine during the daytime as you will be dealing with the external aggressors for the whole day. A natural or organic sunscreen works great by physically blocking UV rays and protecting your skin from the damage.

Cleansing, toning and moisturizing are the important parts of your skin care routine—but when it comes to all-day makeup, applying primer may be the most essential step. SL Basics primer helps to create a smooth, even canvas on your skin and helps extend the longevity of your foundation, blush, bronzer and other face products.

If you’ve made it this far, you’re ready to get started on your all-day makeup look. Congrats! Once you’ve finished perfecting your complexion with face makeup, it’s time to lock your look in place. There are two ways to set your look: with a setting spray or a setting powder.

Now that you know all about prepping (and setting!) your skin and face for makeup, you’re ready to put your brand-new routine to the test!
